The Mariners are celebrating Ichiro Suzuki’s Hall of Fame induction with events and giveaways this weekend.

SEATTLE — The Mariners will be holding giveaways and hosting special events throughout the weekend to celebrate team legend Ichiro Suzuki’s induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

One of the most prolific players in franchise history, Ichiro was inducted into the sport’s Hall of Fame on July 27. The 10-time All-Star played his first 12 seasons in Seattle after coming to the U.S. following a decade of playing professionally in his home country of Japan.

The Mariners began the week with a three-day Ichiro Hall of Fame Funko POP! giveaway for the first 10,000 fans at each of the team’s three games from Aug. 5-7.

The festivities ramp up beginning Friday with Ichiro Jersey Night. For the game against the Tampa Bay Rays at T-Mobile Park beginning at 6:40 p.m., the first 20,000 fans through the gates will get a 2004 replica jersey from the night he set the MLB single-season hit record of 262. Fans also will have an opportunity to take a photo with Ichiro’s Hall of Fame plaque from 4:40 p.m. through the 7th inning on the right field ramp near the view level.

On Saturday night, the Mariners will host a special pregame celebration to formally retire Ichiro’s No. 51 jersey. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., and first pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. There will be another chance for fans to get a photo with the Ichiro Hall of Fame plaque from 7 p.m. until the 7th inning on the right field ramp near the view level.

Sunday, Ichiro Hall of Fame Plaque Day will give the first 20,000 fans the chance to take home a replica of the star’s Cooperstown plaque. The final game of the weekend is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.

Ichiro is also one of just two players in franchise history who have won an American League MVP during his time in a Mariners uniform. Ichiro won both the AL MVP and Rookie of the Year Awards in his first season in Seattle in 2001.

Tickets are still available for all three games on the Mariners’ website.
