Prior to his UFL stint, Wheeler was signed by the Bears in 2024 as an undrafted free agent after playing collegiately at Howard University (2019-2023). He was also accepted into Howard University’s prestigious College of Medicine.
Wheeler was a training camp standout with Chicago, rushing for 100 yards and two touchdowns in two games — one of which was against the Bills.
Wheeler’s rise was cut short as he tore his ACL in the third preseason game in 2024, and he was released from the team before the regular season with an injury settlement. In 2025, Wheeler spent time on the New Orleans Saints practice squad before going to the UFL.
He will wear No. 27 with Buffalo.
