WASHINGTON (7News) — The United States Park Police (USPP) recovered three loaded weapons Saturday night in Washington, D.C., the agency announced in a post on X.

Officials said the guns were illegal and removed from neighborhoods across D.C. by officers.

USPP is the federal agency leading President Trump’s task force protecting residents and visitors in the District as of Thursday night, according to the White House.

The increased federal law enforcement presence is a 7-day effort, but a White House official said there’s an option to extend the presence if needed.
