Hellfest Open Air has added another tribute to a fallen metal musician to its festival grounds.
Alongside the newly unveiled Ozzy Osbourne statue, this year’s event features an ornate stained glass-style memorial honoring late Mastodon vocalist/guitarist Brent Hinds. Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher recently shared a look at the installation.
Hinds died at age 51 in an August 20th, 2025 motorcycle accident. In addition to his decades with Mastodon, he performed with Fiend Without A Face, West End Motel, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, and other projects.
Though Hinds and Mastodon parted ways under bitter circumstances months before his death, the band recently honored him with their new single “Your Ghost Again.”
