Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir have traveled to Bürgenstock, Switzerland, to participate in high-level talks between Iran and the United States.

In a statement published on X on Saturday, June 20, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said that Qatar is also expected to take part in the negotiations.

The statement said that Pakistan will continue to support and advance the implementation of the understandings reached between Iran and the United States and will maintain its role in facilitating the process.

The visit by Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir to Switzerland indicates that Islamabad seeks to play a more active role in the ongoing diplomatic process and contribute to easing tensions by serving as one of the communication channels between the parties involved.
