Saturday: Mostly cloudy, thundershowers, warm and humid. Highs 82-87. Winds northeast 5-10 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, mild and muggy. Lows 70-75. Winds northeast 5 mph.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, scattered thundershowers and humid. Highs 83-88. Winds east 5-10 mph.

Tropical Forecast: A low is a few hundred miles east of our coast. This low is moving northeast at 10-15 miles per hour. The chances for development have dropped to 10 percent and it would be slow to happen. Further development will become unlikely this weekend and afterwards.

A tropical wave is half way between the northern Lesser Antilles and the Cabo Verde Islands. As this wave is near some dry air and development is unlikely through the weekend. Chances are at 10 percent. The low move northwest, then north early next week. The conditions appear to be more favorable early to mid next week. There is a 50 percent chance this system could gain tropical or sub-tropical characteristics.

There are no other areas in the Atlantic Basin where tropical cyclone development is expected over the next seven days. We are tracking the tropics to keep you alert to the severe weather danger.

Marine Forecast: Small Craft Advisory until 9am Saturday. Seas will be 2′ to 5′ and water temperatures are in the low 80s at the Crystal Coast and on the Outer Banks. The Rivers and Sounds are in the mid 80s and will have a moderate chop on Saturday. Winds will be from the northeast 10-15 knots at the Crystal Coast and on the Outer Banks. High tide is at 7:41am and low tide is at 1:53pm.

Weather Summary:

We are tracking some showers in the StormTrack 12 Weather Center.The showers will end this evening and overnight. Skies will remain mostly cloudy. The low passing off our coast will slowly move northeast tonight. The northeasterly flow will continue from the high off of the coast of the New England States. You can expect another mild, but muggy night. Lows are holding on with low 70s inland and mid 70s along the coast.

The low will move away from the northern Outer Banks on Saturday, trailing a front to our south. This will bring isolated to scattered thundershowers into eastern Carolina. Temperatures will warm a bit, with low to mid 80s inland and at the beaches.

StormTrack 12 meteorologists are tracking a high will nudge south into our area on Sunday. The high is over the New England States. The front remains stalled to our south. Skies will become partly cloudy and only a slight chance for showers.

We will start off the new work week, with mostly cloudy skies and only a slight chance for showers on Monday. A high will set up shop over the central Appalachians.

As the low departs, you could see a lingering shower on Tuesday. High pressure start to fill in over the region from the Atlantic.

The high will remain the feature for Wednesday. Mid-week will start the warm-up to above normal temperatures.

The high is the supplier of hot and humid conditions on Thursday. There could be a renegade shower and temperatures will be above normal.

Highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s Monday through Friday. Lows will be in the low to mid 70s Sunday night through Friday night.
