Just when Coronation Street fans thought they might have been able to try and move on from the horror that Theo Silverton brought to the street, he was seen once again, as what happened on the night of his death was finally revealed.
The abuser, who had been subjecting his partner, Todd Grimshaw, to physical and mental abuse for months, was confirmed as the victim of a murder, which was revealed would rock the cobbles back in February, following a week of drama.
An episode of the ITV soap featuring a flashforward confirmed that a shocking crime would occur on the cobbles, with Betsy Swain making the deadly discovery.

At the time, it was revealed that the teen would find the murder victim on the night of her mum, Lisa Swain’s, wedding to Carla Connor, and that it would either be Theo, Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Megan Walsh or Maggie Driscoll, whose lifeless body she would stumble across.
Eventually, a week after the wedding aired, it was revealed that Theo was the victim, which came after he tried to torment Todd one last time. His death has since triggered a murder investigation, with Corrie confirming Todd as a suspect, along with George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass and Danielle Silverton.
But during Monday’s (June 22) dramatic visit to Weatherfield, it was revealed to viewers who was really responsible for Theo’s death as viewers were taken back to the night in question.
In a dark flashback, Sarah was seen receiving a suspicious text from Todd’s phone. She headed to the flat he had shared with Theo when she was confronted by the dastardly builder on the scaffolding that had been erected outside.

A drunk Theo prodded and poked Sarah’s emotions, even bringing up the son she and Todd had lost 21 years earlier. But as their confrontation became more sinister, as Theo threatened Sarah with violence, the Underworld factory manager defended herself by grabbing a metal pipe, which she hit on Theo’s head, sending him crashing to the ground below. And upon realising what she had done, she phoned Gary for help.
He was soon furious to have been dragged into the mess, but helped Sarah nevertheless. He told Sarah to clean herself up and ensure she had an alibi, and she didn’t need to do much planning on that front, as viewers already know, she was unexpectedly knocked unconscious by Jodie Ramsey.

Gary was left to make sure there were no links to Sarah at the murder scene. But it’s clear that their lies could come spilling out at any moment, as back in the present day, Gary stormed out of the dinner party, with Sarah following closely behind. He insisted he could no longer keep the truth from Maria, even if it meant Sarah ending up in prison, as he was at risk of losing everything to.
Sarah pleaded with him to keep quiet, but Gary appeared quite adamant that he needed to come clean in order to save his marriage and his family. But as the tense scenes unfolded, Corrie fans couldn’t help but be distracted by Theo’s return.
@LisaJon64241298 asked: “#Corrie Theo had a tash????” @knittingtopia echoed: “Where did Theos tash come from.” @Matt528chap said: “I swear Theo didn’t have that tash in the whodunnit week at the end of April. #Corrie.” @homebrew19721 commented: “Theo grew that tash quick #corrie.”
@ElaineWharton1 posted: “I don’t remember Theo having that tache #Corrie.” @brianlfc0210 added: “#corrie Just caught up. My memory might be going but I don’t remember Theo leaving with moustache. When did that happen lol.”
The mystery, however, has been solved as Theo (or the actor who plays him, James Cartwright) didn’t just suddenly grow some facial hair. But instead, it was blood from his earlier run-ins on the night of his demise, likely the smack from George when he tried to save Todd from being trapped by Theo once again.
