MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – After days of torrential rain, metro area officials are keeping a close eye on water levels at the Reservoir.
Levels are much higher than usual.
The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District increased the discharge from the spillway at the Reservoir.
The Pearl River at Jackson has reached over 28 feet. The flood stage is 28 feet in Jackson.
Minor flooding is expected in areas of the capital city.
During the 2020 flood, the Pearl River topped out at 36.7 feet, flooding at least 450 homes in Hinds and Madison counties.
