ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A new mural unfolding in Asheville’s River Arts District aims to inspire healing, hope and resilience.
Local artist Nicole Leth is painting a 2,000-square-foot mural on the Aura Arts gallery building located on Depot Street.
Her latest project, which is still a work in progress, focuses on healing one’s inner child. The mural will cover the arts gallery building with horses, along with text bubbles that feature messages such as “keep going” and “the sun will always return.”
“I hope it just puts a smile on their face and maybe reminds them of the joy they felt as a child, and that maybe helps them navigate today’s world with a little bit more joy and strength,” Leth said of the mural.
She says the message was inspired in part by what the area experienced in the aftermath of Helene.
