“Les Sculptures” Jacquemus’ Fashion Show : Front Row At Fondation Maeght At Saint-Paul-De-Vence

Kylie Jenner is entering a new business domain. On Tuesday, the 28-year-old announced she’s collaborating with Facebook and Meta on a pair of AI-powered smart sunglasses.

The $399 Starfire Kylies came out Tuesday alongside two other styles as part of the brand’s rollout of its AI program, Muse Spark. They include basically all the Meta-glasses standards — like a built-in camera and speaker to take photos and videos and listen to music — but can apparently also use AI to help you “better understand what you’re seeing and help manage your daily life effortlessly,” according to Meta. In the case of Kylie’s version in particular, the glasses can also AI-generate her voice to whisper sweet nothings in your ear all day long, starting with her iconic singsongy “Rise and shine” from a 2019 YouTube video. Wow.

Jenner’s Starfires are the cutest frames Meta has released so far, which is the only compliment I’ll offer. Despite widespread privacy concerns about smart glasses like Meta’s — women have reported being approached by men who secretly record them while trying to pick them up and then post the footage online — the brand has plenty of celebrity buy-in, including from Doja Cat and Teyana Taylor. At least the Starfire Kylies don’t feature facial recognition — yet.
