It’s unclear how long Gracie has been missing from her ranch in Texas Hill Country.
REAL COUNTY, Texas — Texas officials are on the lookout for a missing giraffe named Gracie.
“LOST GIRAFFE,” says the title of a social media post on Monday from the Real County Animal Rescue-Shelter, a nonprofit based in Camp Wood, Texas.
It’s unclear how long Gracie has been missing from the Cedar Hollow Ranch. The animal rescue said she was last seen on a game camera west of Leakey, which is west of San Antonio in Texas Hill Country.
The only description for Gracie in the post is that she has “rounded ears.”
Vick Jones, manager of Cedar Hollow Ranch, told NBC News that Gracie is 3 or 4 years old and has been at the property since May. She’s one of two giraffes at the ranch, which is home to a couple hundred animals, including impalas, Nubian ibexes and an antelope found in Central Africa.
The owner is offering a reward of $5,000 for information leading to the capture and safe return of Gracie the giraffe.
Anyone with information on Gracie’s whereabouts can call the Real County Sheriff’s Office at 830-232-5201.
