Steny Hoyer announced his retirement in January, which opened the field with 24 Democrats and three Republicans vying to succeed the 86-year-old former House majority leader. Voters in the Baltimore metro’s Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Harford and Howard counties contested decided races for county executive and County Council\Commissioners seats.
