Update: Westbound I-84 closed between Baker City and Pendleton

LA GRANDE — A crash on Interstate 84 outside La Grande on Wednesday, June 24, is blocking the westbound lanes.
A semi truck crashed near milepost 259 shortly after 1 p.m., according to scanner traffic, which sparked a small vegetation fire between the interstate and the railroad track. Multiple agencies responded to the scene.
The westbound lanes of I-84 are closed as of 3:15 p.m. between milepost 302 in Baker City and milepost 224 outside Pendleton, according to TripCheck.
The Oregon Department of Transportation announced drivers should plan for extended delays as the closure is expected to last into the evening. ODOT is also advising truck drivers to stop ahead of the closure points as parking is filling up quickly.
