An investigation is underway after police said a 4-year-old child was shot Tuesday night and was taken to the hospital in Allegheny County. Allegheny County police they were called on Wednesday morning at 9:30 to investigate an incident that happened Tuesday evening. According to police, a 4-year-old child was shot inside a home in the 100 block of Rankin Boulevard. Detectives responded to Children’s Hospital, where the child was being treated, and opened an investigation. Police said everyone involved in the incident has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.“I just couldn’t believe that that had happened, you know, after seeing him earlier that day riding his bike,” said Nicole Dudley, a Rankin Boulevard resident. George Woodruff, another resident, didn’t know about the shooting until Wednesday. He said he didn’t hear anything on Tuesday night. “Oh, that’s heartbreaking. It’s heartbreaking because, like I said, I see a couple of kids all the time when I go out for a walk, and I’m always playing with them and giggling at them and like that. I just hope they’ll be okay,” Woodruff said. Allegheny County police they were called on Wednesday morning at 9:30 to investigate an incident that happened Tuesday evening. According to police, a 4-year-old child was shot inside a home in the 100 block of Rankin Boulevard.

Detectives responded to Children’s Hospital, where the child was being treated, and opened an investigation.

Police said everyone involved in the incident has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
