What drives so many people to 1) use racial slurs, then 2) go on Love Island USA? It must be studied. Casa Amor’s Alannah Keyser is the latest Love Island contestant to get fired after a video surfaced of her allegedly using the N-word. Like Vasana Montgomery’s case, also this year, the video was not shared publicly until after her casting announcement. Keyser is the second woman this season to be removed for using racial slurs, and the fifth Love Island cast member to have a slur-related scandal in the past two years. Last season, Yulisa Escobar and Cierra Ortega were removed during production, and Huda Mustafa lost her partnership with Huda Beauty after an incident on IG Live.
Keyser was introduced on the show Sunday. That same night, screenshots of her using slurs in videos and in messages were circulating online, per USA Today. Keyser got increasingly less screentime for the next few episodes, concluding with narrator Iain Stirling confirming on Thursday night’s ep that “Alannah has left Casa Amor.”
