TULSA, Okla. –
After introducing viewers to some of Tulsa’s most recognizable buildings during its inaugural season, “Tulsa’s Architectural Treasures with Tom McCarthy” is preparing to return with new episodes.
The Tulsa Foundation for Architecture confirmed production is underway on season two following the conclusion of the first season on April 23. The finale featured Tulsa’s historic Spotlight Theater, wrapping an eight-episode run that explored notable landmarks across the city.
A new way to tell Tulsa’s story
Hosted by former Associated Press journalist and Tulsa Foundation for Architecture docent Tom McCarthy, the social media series combines local history with architectural storytelling to introduce viewers to the people, design and history behind Tulsa’s landmark buildings.
The project was created as a social-first video series designed to make architectural history approachable through short, shareable episodes.
Produced through the Tulsa Storytelling Lab initiative, the series supports local nonprofits in creating episodic digital content that highlights the people, places and stories shaping Tulsa’s identity.
Building on a successful first season
Season one premiered Jan. 15 and released new episodes every other week before concluding in late April.
Throughout the season, viewers explored a variety of Tulsa landmarks while learning about the history, architecture and cultural significance behind each location through McCarthy’s storytelling.
The series was created to increase awareness of Tulsa’s architectural heritage and encourage greater appreciation for the city’s unique built environment.
Looking ahead to season 2
The Tulsa Foundation for Architecture has started production on a second season, with additional episodes currently in development.
