For the second year in a row, Florida Atlantic will put multiple players into the NBA, with two former players joining teams in the 2026 NBA Draft.

Forward Baba Miller became the highest FAU player to ever be drafted into the NBA on Wednesday when the Los Angeles Clippers drafted him 36th overall.

This is the second year in a row that a former FAU player has been drafted in the second round of the NBA draft, as Alijah Martin was selected 39th overall by the Toronto Raptors in 2025.

Miller started his professional basketball career playing for Real Madrid’s youth program, then played two seasons for Florida State. After withdrawing from the NBA draft in 2024, Miller transferred to FAU, where he averaged 11 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in 2025. He was also selected to the All-American Athletic Conference team.

He finished his collegiate career at Cincinnati in 2026, averaging 13 points and 10 rebounds. On Wednesday, Miller finally got his moment, hearing his name being called as the newest member of the Los Angeles Clippers.

“Baba is an athletic, skilled forward with great size and feel,” said Lawrence Frank, Clippers president of basketball operations, following the draft. “He is an excellent passer, finisher, and rebounder, as well as a versatile defender.”

That wasn’t it for FAU, as former FAU guard Nick Boyd signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Golden State Warriors.

Exhibit-10 contracts are less guaranteed money than standard NBA contracts, and offer the signed player a contract with the team’s developmental roster if they do not make the regular team.

Boyd played for the Owls from 2020 to 2024, averaging eight points and two rebounds. He was a member of the Owls’ Final Four team in 2023 and helped bring the team back to the NCAA tournament in 2024.

He then transferred to San Diego State for the 2025 season and Wisconsin for the 2026 season, where he broke out, averaging 21 points, four rebounds, and four assists, and led the Badgers to the NCAA tournament.

FAU has now put five players into the NBA in the past two seasons, representing consistent success within their men’s basketball program.
