MADISON, Wis. — Few understand what it’s like to play in the NBA, and the state of Wisconsin like Devin Harris. 

He grew up in Wauwatosa, played basketball at Wisconsin, and 15 seasons in the NBA. The guard told News 3 Now, he understands why the Bucks and Giannis parted ways. 

“Giannis has done great things for the city, brought them a championship. But you know, in the current state of the NBA, very rarely do guys stay throughout their full careers. But I think it’s a twofold thing. Obviously if they trade Giannis and they get a lot of draft capital, they get to reset their franchise, and Giannis gets to go and compete for championships. But, you know, as long as he’s happy and the team gets what they deserve from a compensation standpoint, I think it’s a win win,” Harris said.
