Monticello Police urged people to stay home if they do not need to be out and to avoid driving around barricades or attempting to cross flooded roads. Officers cited dangers including washed-out pavement, deep water and strong currents that may not be visible.

Officials ask report flooded roadways so others can be notified. The department says officers will continue monitoring road conditions throughout the day.
