According to CBS Sports, each player on the winning team will receive $30,000, while each player on the losing team will receive $10,000. The Commissioner’s Cup MVP will receive an additional $10,000 bonus, and the remaining $10,000 from the prize pool will be donated to a charity chosen by the winning team.

That means the biggest individual payout goes to a player on the winning team who also wins MVP. In that case, the total bonus would be $40,000.
How the Commissioner’s Cup works
The 2026 Commissioner’s Cup is the sixth edition of the WNBA’s in-season tournament.
Every regular-season game from June 1 to June 17 counted as a Cup game, with teams competing within their conferences during the pool-play phase.
Because the league now has 15 teams, the format is slightly uneven. Eastern Conference teams play six Cup games, while Western Conference teams play seven.
The team with the best record in Cup play from each conference advances to the championship game. Hosting rights go to the team with the best overall winning percentage in Cup games.
The 2026 championship game is scheduled for June 30 and doesn’t count as a regular-season game.
Why the money still matters
The Commissioner’s Cup prize money remains a meaningful bonus, even as WNBA salaries have increased under the league’s new collective bargaining agreement.
A $30,000 payout is no longer as dramatic compared with top salaries as it once was, but it’s still a significant extra payment for one game.
There’s also a charity element throughout the tournament. During pool play, winning teams earn $3,000 donations for their selected nonprofit, while losing teams earn $1,000.
