A newly released image is offering fans one of the last photos of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne together before the Black Sabbath icon’s death.

Shared by the BBC ahead of the August 18 premiere of Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, the portrait shows the couple seated side by side with two small dogs between them. Ozzy, wearing a large gold cross, his signature round glasses, and holding a glitter-covered cane, leans toward Sharon, his wife of 43 years. The photo was captured during filming for the upcoming documentary chronicling the family’s move back to the U.K. after decades in the United States.

The one-hour special is being billed as an “intimate” look at “the final chapter” of Ozzy’s life in Britain, with Sharon and two of their children, Kelly and Jack Osbourne, contributing interviews to help tell the story. The project was originally announced in 2022 as a multi-episode TV series titled Home to Roost, however, as the rocker’s health declined, the family decided a documentary would be more prudent.

BBC confirmed that Coming Home will also feature behind-the-scenes moments from the Osbourne’s return to the U.K., leading up to the historic concert performance. According to reports, producers continued working closely with the family after his death to ensure the final cut respected their wishes while still offering a candid look at his last months.

Ozzy’s death certificate, as reported by The New York Times, listed the cause as cardiac arrest brought on by coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction. He died on July 22 at the age of 76 — just over two weeks after his Back to the Beginning farewell concert with Black Sabbath.

In the days following his death, a private funeral service was held on July 31 at the Osbourne’s Buckinghamshire estate, which around 110 close friends and family members attended, including his Black Sabbath bandmates, guitarist Zakk Wylde, Marilyn Manson, and Robert Trujillo of Metallica, who called the ceremony “beautiful” and that it had many “magical” moments.
