A shark was seen off the coast of Block Island feeding off a whale Friday.

Scientists said one of the great white sharks was at least 14-feet long.

Experts from the shark conservancy are examining the video and bite marks to determine how big the rare white shark was.

“One of them was really really big. We estimate maybe 14-feet, even larger. We had a crew at the whale yesterday and today and we’ll be getting some measurements. There are a couple of significant bites on this whale. It was stark and everything was in to play. There are a couple of massive bites. We have some video and that was a 40-foot whale and the shark still looked bigger,” said Jon Dodd, executive director at the Atlantic Shark Institute.

The shark conservancy said it should have the measurements later in the week.
