ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Some cutting-edge space exploration work is set to happen right here in Rochester.

L3 Harris Technologies has been awarded a NASA contract to develop key technologies for the Habitable Worlds Observatory.

L3 Harris is one of seven companies selected for three-year, fixed-price contracts supporting this NASA mission. 

The work will happen in Rochester and focus on advancing thermal and optical stability. The observatory’s mission is to detect and study potentially habitable planets beyond our solar system.
