MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Our Action News 5 team is saying goodbye to William “Bo” Bradley. After nearly four decades with us, the longtime photojournalist is retiring.

Bo began his career at Action News 5 in 1988, when he was hired as a videographer. He worked alongside reporters—helping shoot, finish, and often edit their stories.

“We’re Action News 5 twins, actually,” Kym Clark shared, remembering their first day. “We were both birthed into the same Action News 5 family on the same day 38 years ago. Can you believe that?”
Bo is known for his wit, strong work ethic, and go-getter attitude. For decades, he stood behind the camera as a steady presence, collaborating with many of your favorite reporters and anchors, including Andrew Douglas.
“My first package—my first story—20 years ago, [Bo] was the photographer I worked with,” Douglas said in a congratulatory message.
Bo’s career is full of memorable moments—some that will go down in station history—like his now-infamous run-in with former Memphis Grizzlies player Tony Allen in 2014, while Bo was working as a videographer for the team. “I want to apologize,” Allen joked, “for smacking that camera.”

What we’ll remember most about Bo is his positivity, his faith, and his dedication to the job. He always has a kind word, a joke, and a bit of wisdom to share.
In honor of his time at Action News 5, an editing suite in our building has been named for him: the William “Bo” Bradley Edit Suite.

And after 38 years behind the camera, Bo made his on-air debut Thursday offering thanks for a career that won’t be forgotten.

Bo Bradley is a proud husband, father, and grandfather. During retirement, he will spending more time with his wife Carla, his son, Brendan and daughter, Bailey, and his granddaughters, Charlotte and Emerson.

He also plans on staying involved at his home church, Mission Church in Memphis.
