A woman who died after being attacked by an alligator in Florida has ties to the Sacramento area, KCRA 3 has confirmed. Brittany Clark, 31, was killed by the alligator on Sunday afternoon while she was hiking with her boyfriend and best friend, KCRA 3’s sister-station WESH 2 reported. The attack happened near the Barr Street Trailhead in the Little Big Econ State Forest, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.Clark suffered catastrophic injuries, losing both arms in the deadly attack, officials said.According to Clark’s Facebook page, she was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Sacramento.Clark’s family is working to raise money to have her remains transported back to California so she can be laid to rest, WESH reported. Her brother Nate Clark told the station that Brittany was “an amazing sister as anybody could ever ask for.” “She was working at a construction company, and they were building all the roads for Florida,” he said.Clark added that he has been “in shambles.””I had a very, very hard time believing that it was real life,” he said.WESH reported that Florida officials euthanized two alligators in the area after the attack and undertook tests to see whether either was responsible. Clark’s boyfriend Chance Allison told NBC that Brittany was “the strongest and most outgoing person I’ve ever met in my 30 years of life. She loved her job where she operated a bulldozer running a dirt crew and loved going out on the water every chance she could.
