As first reported by members of the Buffalo Bills Backers and subsequently confirmed by multiple sources, the franchise will unveil its new gray (or nickel-colored) alternate uniforms on July 27, the day before veterans report to training camp.
The jerseys – which were leaked on Instagram in April by the same account that initially revealed the Tennessee Titans’ new home and road uniforms – feature royal blue numbers outlined in white and red, as well as dark gray stripes on the sleeves that mimic the design of their home, road and red alternates.
There’s also a contrasting royal blue collar with the phrase “Go Bills” on the inside, similar to how “Bills Mafia” was included on their all-white “Rivalries” uniforms that debuted in a loss to the New England Patriots last season, while their “Charging Buffalo” logo appears as a patch on the left shoulder.
The aforementioned sources have indicated they’ll be paired with royal blue helmets that feature the horns and stripe from their “Charging Buffalo” logo, which gives the impression that the animal is charging forward, as well as gray pants with dark gray stripes that match the jerseys and royal blue socks.
While the actual inspiration for the uniforms remains unclear, it’s worth noting the Bills are moving into a new stadium this fall and the gray uniforms would match the steel exterior of their $2.1 billion, 62,000-seat venue. Buffalo is also nicknamed “The Nickel City,” previously referenced with the use of silver in the “Rivalries” design.
The addition of a gray alternate uniform means the Bills’ 1960 throwbacks won’t return in 2026 after being worn twice last year to mark the final season at the old Highmark Stadium, while their red throwback helmets will remain an option to be paired with their royal blue home jerseys for select games.
