JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. – Multiple residents in White City have reported seeing the roaming Jackson County black bear, whose also made appearances around Phoenix.
Wildlife Images Rehabilitation & Education Center released a statement today stating,
“We are aware of the situation regarding the black bear in Jackson County. While Wildlife Images is a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center, we are not authorized by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) to rehabilitate bears.”
Wildlife Images Rehabilitation & Education Center asks the public to redirect questions to ODFW, as they’re overseeing the situation.

PHOENIX, Ore. – With warmer weather, animals are starting to venture into civilized areas, with the Phoenix Police Department specifically addressing a bear that has frequented Fern Valley Road and the Grove Road area in Phoenix.
Officials remind the public to not approach the bear and to give it lots of space. Do not go to the area looking for the bear, as this can cause problematic encounters.
Officials are unable to relocate the bear as of now, but is being actively monitored making sure everyone is safe.
If the bear becomes too comfortable in surrounding neighborhoods or with people, it could be euthanized.
If you reside in the surrounding area, be sure to secure your trash, supervise your pets, be aware of your surroundings, and inform others who are unaware of the scenario.
