The Bucks and guard Kam Jones have agreed to a two-way deal, reports HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto (Twitter link).
Jones, the 38th pick of the 2025 draft, became a free agent when the Bulls decided to waive him earlier this week. Jones was acquired by the Bulls in the draft-night trade that sent this year’s No. 38 pick, which was used to select Braden Smith, to Indiana.
The 24-year-old guard played 37 games for the banged-up Pacers last season, averaging 3.2 assists to 1.0 turnover in 16.6 minutes per game, but he struggled with his outside shot and overall efficiency. His rookie year was also marred by a back injury, as he didn’t make his NBA regular season debut until mid-December.
Chicago is still the hook for a partial guarantee worth $1,075,459 for Jones since he wasn’t claimed off waivers.
Joining Milwaukee is a homecoming of sorts for Jones, who played four seasons for Marquette.
The Bucks are still carrying Cormac Ryan on a two-way deal that carried over from last season and have reportedly agreed to sign undrafted free agent Rafael Castro to a two-way contract as well. Once Jones’ and Castro’s deals are official, Milwaukee will have no two-way openings available, though since those deals don’t count against the cap, teams often make changes over the course of the offseason.
