Jenna Bush Hager Called Out to Al Roker From Her Ship. His Crew’s Response Was Perfect

There was one especially fun moment during TODAY’s Fourth of July celebration on New York Harbor — Jenna Bush Hager and Al Roker found themselves reporting from two famous ships and made sure to greet each other from across the water.

Jenna spent the morning aboard the legendary Queen Mary 2, while Roker got a firsthand look at life on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle, the only tall ship in active U.S. military service.

As the two vessels came within sight of one another, Jenna spotted her colleague, held up a “Where’s Al Roker?” sign and waved.

A video shared on TODAY’s Instagram page captured the wholesome interaction.

“Hi, Al!” Jenna calls out in the video.

The greeting was immediately met with cheers from Al’s ship, where crew members and cadets shouted back, “JENNA!”

Before the friendly exchange, Al had already been put to work.

His first assignment? Washing pots and pans in the ship’s scullery alongside cadets preparing meals for the crew.

“This never stops,” Al joked. “Good grief!”
