The Washington Wizards have finalized their coaching staff ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season, announcing several additions and role changes as the organization continues building around head coach Brian Keefe.
Among the updates, Adam Caporn has been promoted to lead assistant after spending last season on Keefe’s staff. Caporn is also the head coach of the Australia men’s national basketball team, one of the top teams in the world.
Other updates were those that we knew from previous reports. Washington added former Georgetown men’s basketball head coach Patrick Ewing as an assistant for his second stint in Washington, where he began his NBA coaching career more than two decades ago. Veteran coach Steve Clifford joins the organization as a coaching advisor.
David Vanterpool will move into a basketball operations role in the front office after being an assistant coach for several years.
The Capital City Go-Go will also have new leadership, with Tevon Saddler being named head coach of the Wizards’ G League affiliate. TJ Sorrentine will be the Wizards’ Summer League head coach.
