“The Who” is performing live for the final time, the iconic band’s frontman recently revealed.
“This is certainly the last time you will see us on tour,” Roger Daltrey, 81, told The Times. “It’s grueling. In the days when I was signing Who songs for three hours a night, six nights a week, I was working harder than most footballers.”
Daltrey, who has battled viral meningitis, also talked about his own health.
“It’s done a lot of damage,” Daltrey said. “It’s buggered up my internal thermometer, so every time I start singing in any climate over 75 degrees I’m wringing with sweat, which drains my body salts.
“The potential to get really ill is there, and I have to be honest, I’m nervous about making it to the end of the tour.”
Daltrey also revealed he is losing his vision and hearing due to macular degeneration.
“I’m not going to be here much longer,” he said. “If I live another 10 years it will be way past anyone in my family.”
