MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Memphis Grizzlies are acquiring veteran point guard D’Angelo Russell via trade, ESPN’s Shams Charania reports.
The move is reportedly part of a six-team trade that sends Santi Aldama from Memphis to the Dallas Mavericks and Isaiah Stewart from Detroit to Memphis.
In addition to Russell, the Grizzlies will receive a future second-round pick and a future second-round pick swap from the Washington Wizards.
Russell, 30, was the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and was an All-Star in 2019 for the Brooklyn Nets.
The point guard is coming off of his worst season as a pro, scoring 10 points per game in just 26 appearances for Dallas.
