It wouldn’t be Wimbledon without a spectacle, so allow us to present to you Swazi-British actor Richard E. Grant rocking a white linen suit, sand-colored vest, sky-blue shirt, Union Jack tie, and two watches. The theme here was clearly two-tone all around: on Grant’s left wrist was a steel-and-red-gold Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph on a black leather strap, while on his right was something much more svelte—namely, a Santos de Cartier in steel and 18k yellow gold on a matching two-tone bracelet. Why the double-wristing? Grant’s father passed down the Navitimer, which he keeps set to local time, while the Cartier is kept on Swaziland time to honor his birthplace.

The best place to look for unreleased watches over the past couple of years? A celebrity’s wrist. That rule proved true again at Wimbledon, where Andrew Garfield wore this cool midsize IWC Ingenieur while it was still fully under wraps. Now, however, the news has officially broken, and we know it to be the new Ingenieur Automartic 35 ref. IW324902. The Ingenieur is one of the less heralded designs from the watch industry’s most famous designer, Gérald Genta, who is also responsible for the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilus. Since re-releasing the Ingenieur in 2023, IWC has slowly expanded its presence in the catalog. This started with new sizes, like the 35-mm “SL” version on Garfield’s wrist, and an increasingly large assortment of colors. The new new blue-green “Pool” color makes it the perfect bit of wristwear for summer outings.

Yes, sorry, this is the best image of the watch

Anyone of movie-going age during the ‘90s and ‘00s will instantly recognize Jason Flemyng, whose turns as London gangsters and comic book characters has made him a favorite Guy From That Thing. Turns out his sartorial choices are just as delightful as his film roles. Just check out his dapper turn at Wimbledon this year, making a double-breasted suit in searing weather look effortless. His favored watch? A Rolex Milgauss, whose signature green-tinted crystal instantly gives it away. Given the model’s backstory—it was developed for engineers and the like who work around equipment that produces magnetic fields—it seems like the perfect bit of wristwear for a man who once played Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
