Celtic have started the season strongly with two wins from two, but the work is far from done there.

With a Champions League play-off coming up and only a few weeks of the transfer window remaining, Brendan Rodgers is still keen to add new players to his ranks.

Rodgers is well aware that the attacking department could do with more reinforcements and the likes of Jakob Breum and Michel-Ange Balikwisha are two of the most prominent links.

There are still some arguments to suggest that a striker would also be welcome and Richard Foster thinks there is one goal scorer that would fit the bill.

Bojan Miovski is a name that won’t be unfamiliar to Celtic fans.

The North Macedonian was excellent for Aberdeen, with former Dons boss Neil Warnock saying Miovski is the best striker he’s worked with.

He hasn’t been quite as fortunate in La Liga in Girona and Foster thinks that joining Celtic could be the perfect place for him to rediscover his form while also improving the Hoops.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, he said: “Watching Miovski in games, his movement is brilliant. He senses where the space is. He’s always trying to play on the blind side of defenders. He makes really, really clever runs. He’s quick, he’s a good finisher.

“I think you put him into the Celtic team, and he’s going to get far more chances. I think he’s probably more of a natural goal scorer than Adam Idah.

“I like the idea. It’s a bit different. I think he’s clever enough and he’s technically good enough a football player to play for Celtic.”

It feels unfair to judge Miovski and Idah on their styles of play as both work differently.

Idah thrives on holding the ball up, dropping the ball off to his midfielders or wingers before moving into the box whereas Miovski would rather play on the shoulder of the last man and use his pace to beat the defenders.

Both strikers are clinical in front of goal and overall, there isn’t much difference between the two players’ best goal scoring season.

Coincidentally, both enjoyed the best season in front of goal in their second season at their respective clubs, with Miovski bagging 26 goals in the 2023/24 season and Idah getting 20 in the 2024/25 season.

Last year saw three Celtic players score 20 or more goals across the campaign. Those are the sort of numbers that win you leagues and make you deadly in Europe.
