From robber baron to symbologist, Morgan Spector is eyeing a career change. Deadline reports that Netflix is looking at the Gilded Age star to fill Tom Hanks’s shoes in their series based on Dan Brown’s latest book, The Secret of Secrets. Spector would reportedly play Professor Robert Langdon opposite Rebecca Hall as love interest/noetic scientist Katherine Solomon. Apparently, noetics is a similarly fake science as symbology, so this is a match made in Catholic apocrypha heaven.

Brown is serving as a producer on the series, with Lost’s Carlton Cuse as showrunner. The Secret of Secrets, the sixth n the Robert Langdon series, came out in 2025 after an 8-year gap in the study of Langdonology. In it, Langdon “races against ancient forces” to rescue Solomon “whose discoveries have the power to forever change humanity’s understanding of the mind.” Or as a r/skeptic post put it, “The woo-lovers are gonna go crazy over this.”
