Heat Advisory begins at noon on Saturday in Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia

  • July 11, 2026

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Saturday will be another dangerously hot day. High temperatures are expected to reach the mid-to-upper 90s, with afternoon heat index values — the “feels like” temperature — climbing between 105 and 110 degrees.

A Heat Advisory has been issued for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia from noon to 7 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during peak afternoon hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors, especially the elderly and young children.

Southerly winds will push more moisture into the area this weekend, setting the stage for increasing storm chances — particularly across Northeast Florida, where atmospheric moisture levels are expected to climb significantly Saturday.

Saturday stormsStorms move in Sunday

Relief from the high heat arrives Sunday, but it comes with a trade-off.

A front pushing down from the north, combined with deep southwest flow, will fuel numerous showers and thunderstorms across the area Sunday. Storm coverage will be especially heavy near the east coast, where sea breezes from both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico converge.

The good news? Increased cloud cover and widespread storm activity will finally knock temperatures back to near-normal levels by Monday, with heat index values expected to stay below Heat Advisory thresholds.
