NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The Pelicans overcame an 18-point deficit to defeat the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday afternoon, 95-91. The victory marked the team’s first summer league victory since 2023, ending a 12-game losing streak.
Second-year Pelican Hunter Dickinson led the team with 21 points. Kobe Bufkin, who put up 30 points in a loss to the Timberwolves on Thursday, finished with 19 points and a team-high six rebounds against the Hornets.
Led by summer league coach God Shammgod, the Pelicans outscored the Hornets 30-15 in the fourth quarter to secure the comeback.
The Pelicans will be back in action Sunday afternoon to take on the Phoenix Suns. The game will be broadcast live on the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network at 2 p.m.
