MADISON, Wis.— UW Health and Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam reached an agreement to bring the medical center into the UW Health system of care.
Marshfield Medical Center is a fully integrated medical campus that includes a hospital, a nursing facility and independent senior living apartments. It also operates two assisted senior living facilities and primary care clinics in Columbus, Horicon and Waupun.
Approximately 425 employees will transition to UW Health, and the health care system said patients will continue to access care at the Beaver Dam campus.
Additionally, UW Health said the next several months will include a coordinated transition approach with an official closing anticipated before the end of the year.
Following the close, UW Health will begin integration efforts including aligning clinical systems, expanding specialty services and enhancing recruitment.
