The 25-year-old Ukrainian tennis player Oleksandra Oliynykova, who is ranked 52nd in the WTA, defeated Turkish player Ipek Oz in the first round with a score of 7-6(7-1), 7-6(7-5). This victory earned her a place in the Round of 16.
Oliynykova’s next opponent will be decided in the clash between Romanian Miriam Bulgaru (No. 248) and unseeded Elena Pridankina (No. 201).
The Iași tournament will run until July 19, promising many exciting matches on the clay courts.
