Some people say the United States is a democracy. Others call it a democratic republic. Considering the current number of profiteers and influence peddlers in office, I think it is more like an unstable developing nation: a country with an economy based on state capitalism, in which everything is treated as a commercial enterprise for the profit of members of the ruling class and their families.
