The WNBA’s “Sunday Night Basketball” July 12 debut between the Indiana Fever and the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces generated averaged a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 2.64 million viewers on NBC and Peacock in primetime, making it the most-watched regular season game since 2000, based on Nielsen Big Data + Panel and digital data from Adobe Analytics.
Featuring four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson (Aces) and three-time WNBA All-Star Caitlin Clark (Fever), the game was the first-ever WNBA regular-season Sunday game in primetime on a broadcast network and subscription streaming platform.
Led by guard Kelsey Mitchell’s 27 points, the Fever’s 34-point victory, 109-75, over the Aces peaked at 2.8 million viewers from 10:30-10:45 p.m. ET.
NBC Sports has averaged a TAD of 1.5 million viewers for its four WNBA games this season on NBC and Peacock, up 71% from comparable coverage last season and the most of any WNBA media partner this season.
This is NBC Sports’ first season with WNBA coverage since 2002. WNBA coverage continues on July 20 at 8 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBCSN with the Aces visiting 2026 WNBA All-Star Marina Mabrey and the Toronto Tempo.
