Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) – The Toronto Maple Leafs hired Jeremiah Crowe on Wednesday to be their new director of player personnel. He leaves the Buffalo Sabres as their director of pro scouting, which was a position he had held for four years.
When Kevyn Adams was hired as general manager by owner Terry Pegula back in 2020 to purge the hockey department – something Jason Botterill would not do – he put Crowe in charge of both pro and amateur scouting. To his credit, Adams quickly found out that is too big a job for one man, and convinced Pegula he went way too far in how many people he had Adams fire from the hockey department.
Before the 2022-23 season, Crowe took over the pro scouting side.
Crowe had been with the Sabres since the 2017-18 season when he was hired by Botterill as a pro scout.
