After teasing fans and the rest of Las Vegas for several days, the Vegas Golden Knights have rolled out a commemorative logo for their upcoming 10th season.
The National Hockey League team officially released the logo on Thursday, July 16, as part of a full-page ad in the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Leading up to Thursday, though, a gold silhouette of the logo had been popping up on billboards and digital signs around the city.
The centerpiece of the logo is a black X — the Roman numeral for 10 — with a red inline and gold and white beveled edges. Behind the X is a downward-facing sword, again in gold and white, reminiscent of the sword in the Golden Knights’ alternate logo. Vegas’s primary logo sits on top of the X, with a white banner running underneath containing the numbers 17 and 27.
While the Las Vegas expansion bid was officially approved in June 2016 and the team’s name and logo were unveiled that November, the Golden Knights officially became eligible to start operations on March 1, 2017. They played the first game in franchise history on October 6, 2017, on the road in Dallas, and played their first game at home in T-Mobile Arena on October 10.
Aside the newspaper ad, the new logo appeared on the Golden Knights’ website and social media channels alongside the announcement of their 2026-27 regular season schedule. The team also changed its social media profile pictures to the new logo.
There was no indication on Thursday if or where the logo would appear on the Golden Knights’ uniforms during the 2026-27 season.
While their history is relatively short, the Golden Knights have accomplished a lot in their nine seasons so far. They’ve made the Stanley Cup Finals three times (2018 vs. Washington; 2023 vs. Florida; 2026 vs. Carolina), winning the championship once (2023).
The Golden Knights will open their 2026-27 NHL regular season at home on Tuesday, September 29, when they host the Chicago Blackhawks.
