RED LODGE, Mont. — Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks warned the public against feeding bears and other wildlife after a rise in conflicts and unusual bear activity in the Red Lodge area.
Officials say bears are getting bold, breaking into vehicles and homes and suspect it’s due to an increase in people intentionally feeding bears.
Feeding game animals, including bears, is illegal in Montana, along with unintentional feeding through actions such as unattended bird feeders.
FWP asks the public to report information about anyone intentionally feeding wildlife.
