KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Ochai Agbaji is back in his hometown — and back on the court with local kids.
The NBA player hosted his youth basketball camp for the second year, bringing dozens of young athletes together for skills drills, games and one-on-one instruction with coaches and counselors.
Organizers say the camp is about more than improving jump shots and ball handling. Agbaji said he wanted to give back to the community that helped raise him.
“This is what I love to do. I love to give back in any way, be around the youth, see them smile, laugh, have fun, play the game that I love and play too,” Agbaji said. “Just giving back…it’s great to see them having fun, and that’s what it’s really all about here.”
Agbaji said camps like this helped shape him as a kid, and he hopes young players leave with new skills on the court and new role models off it.
