Employers are becoming increasingly concerned that job candidates are using artificial intelligence tools to get through interviews.

According to a Bloomberg report, some applicants perform well during the hiring process with the help of AI chatbots but struggle to meet expectations after joining the company.

To prevent this, several firms are bringing back face-to-face interviews.

Some companies have even sent cameras to candidates and asked them to set them up at their desks so interviewers can check whether outside tools are being used.

The concern is growing as AI becomes common in job searches. Nearly 50 per cent of job seekers have admitted using AI at some stage of the application process, according to Gartner data cited by Bloomberg.

While AI can help candidates prepare resumes and practise answers, employers fear that excessive dependence on such tools may make it difficult to judge a person’s real skills.

Companies are now trying to balance the benefits of technology with the need for fair and reliable hiring.
