Speak no murder, hear no murder, see no murder.

What do you do after a beloved friend is found as dead as a doorman? Get Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short on the case, of course. In the new trailer for Only Murders in the Building season five, the true-crime podcasters refuse to believe that Lester the doorman’s death in the courtyard fountain was accidental, especially after learning that he had a “run-in” with a mobster on the night he died. Mabel, Charles, and Oliver decide that they “need to go face-to-face with the mob” as part of their investigation but also end up finding several billionaires sniffing around a murder scene. (“This isn’t the mob, this is the new mob of New York,” Oliver declares.)

According to a synopsis, their investigation “plunges them into the shadowy corners of New York and beyond — where the trio uncovers a dangerous web of secrets connecting powerful billionaires, old-school mobsters, and the mysterious residents of the Arconia.” Will this building ever know peace? We don’t know, but Charles sleeping with a suspect and reaching into a casket to see if Lester has any missing fingers probably won’t help.

The cast of potential suspects includes Michael Cyril Creighton, Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Bobby Cannavale, Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein, Dianne Wiest, Jermaine Fowler, and more. Start looking for clues every week — or just enjoy seeing Short n’ Streep being cute together onscreen again — when the first three episodes of Only Murders in the Building season five drop on September 9.
