Las Vegas, NV — Four former Nebraska basketball players wrapped up play in the 2026 NBA Summer League, each hoping strong performances will translate into training camp invitations, two-way contracts or continued opportunities at the professional level.
Brice Williams entered the summer with the most professional experience after averaging 15.0 points in 30 minutes per game across 12 games with the Detroit Pistons’ NBA G League affiliate during the 2025-26 season.
The 2025 All-Big Ten First Team selection continued that success in Las Vegas, averaging 14.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 46 percent from the field and 39 percent from 3-point range over five games. Williams scored 24 points against Phoenix and followed with 21 points, including six 3-pointers, against Cleveland, showcasing his ability to create offense against NBA-level competition. He will now compete for a spot on Detroit’s roster during training camp.
Rienk Mast emerged as one of the biggest surprises of Summer League for the Indiana Pacers. The undrafted forward averaged 15.3 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting 48 percent from the floor, tying for sixth in the event in rebounding.
Mast recorded two double-doubles, highlighted by 23 points and 10 rebounds against Toronto and 16 points with 11 rebounds against Cleveland. He also displayed the passing, floor spacing and basketball IQ that made him a standout at Nebraska while showing improved athleticism after battling illness during the second half of his final collegiate season.
Mast is currently on a training camp contract, and his Summer League performance strengthened his case for a two-way contract or a larger role within the Pacers organization.
Sam Hoiberg made his professional debut with the Phoenix Suns, appearing in all five Summer League games. The former Husker averaged 2.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.6 steals in 11.1 minutes per game.
While his offensive production was limited, Hoiberg’s defensive effort and hustle stood out throughout the week. One highlight for Nebraska fans came when Hoiberg matched up against Williams during Summer League action. Hoiberg is joining Phoenix on a training camp contract as he competes for a two-way or G League opportunity.
Josiah Allick earned a Summer League invitation with the Charlotte Hornets after helping the Greensboro Swarm capture the 2025-26 NBA G League championship. He averaged 6.6 points and 5.7 rebounds in the G League last season.
Allick appeared in two Summer League games, grabbing two rebounds in limited minutes while continuing to showcase his physicality and rebounding ability. He is expected to remain with the Greensboro Swarm entering next season unless another NBA opportunity arises.
With Summer League complete, Williams and Mast appear to have strengthened their NBA prospects, while Hoiberg and Allick will continue pursuing opportunities through training camp and the G League. NBA training camps start at the end of September.
