PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Attendees of a Chase Field concert and shoppers at an East Valley mall may have been exposed to measles, according to Maricopa County Department of Public Health officials.

A person with measles may have exposed others at the Fuerza Regida concert at Chase Field from 7 p.m. to midnight on Sunday, July 12. The same person, who does not live in the county, visited Chandler Fashion Center on July 13.

Visitors at any of these locations should watch for symptoms through August 3.

There have been 25 confirmed measles cases in Maricopa County in 2026. For the last 30 years, there was one case a year, officials said.

“The continuing identification of new measles cases and exposures highlights how easily this virus spreads,” said Ariella Dale, Ph.D., chief science officer at MCDPH. “We have an effective, trusted vaccine that has kept the virus from spreading like this for decades. As a community, we can use that same tool to stop spread now.”

Anyone who may have been exposed at the above sites should check their vaccination status and watch for symptoms, which include:

High fever (> 101°F)Red, watery eyesCoughRunny noseA rash that is red, raised and blotchy. The rash begins after other symptoms, usually on the face at the hairline, and moves down the body.

Measles is highly contagious but preventable with a two-dose vaccine. Unvaccinated people have a 90% chance of becoming infected if exposed, county officials said.
