WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – An Andover Central High School graduate who went on to a strong collegiate golf career at Kansas State is now set to take on the highest level in professional golf.
Cooper Schultz, who recently competed close to home in the Wichita Open, will make his PGA Tour debut this weekend. In a qualifier on Monday in Minnesota, the 24-year-old posted a score of seven under par, good enough to earn a spot in the upcoming 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in the Minneapolis suburb of Blaine, Minn.
Schultz is set to tee off in his first PGA tournament at 8:46 a.m. Thursday. Wichitans Sam Stevens and Adam Hadwin are also in this weekend’s field in Minnesota.
